My name is Helen, I live in Retford, Nottinghamshire and I love to read. I always have several books on the go at once and travelling without a book and my headphones is my worst nightmare. I also used to blog at Helsbels, where I documented my adventures in running and fitness. However, it’s hard to blog about running when you are currently on the injury bench, or feeling too lazy to exercise much, so I decided it was a good time to start documenting the book reviews and musings of a bibliophile.
I’ve always loved reading. I remember my first reading book at school which simply had the word “look” on every single page. It was exceptionally dull, even as a four year old. My bag for family holidays always weighed a lot due to the sheer volume of books I took with me. I loved Sweet Valley and The Babysitters Club and could easily get through several of those books a day.
In November 2019, I was really lucky to have the opportunity to live out one of my dreams – and took on my very own bookshop. As I type this, I am currently sat in Wonderland Bookshop, surrounded by a vast selection of children’s and young adult books.
It’s really hard to choose a favourite book, but there’s quite I love and a fair few I don’t.
